Position and responsibilities
- Doctoral researcher in project A12 (Genetic and Molecular Similarity of Autoimmune Diseases) of the GRK 2633 – Defining and Targeting Autoimmune Pre-Disease (2nd generation)
Scientific profile
- Isha Barve holds a Master’s degree in Bioinformatics from the University of Glasgow (2023), where she investigated gene-pathway interactions underlying drug synergy between Ibrutinib and AZD8055 in chronic lymphocytic leukemia. Prior to this, she completed an M.Sc. in Bioinformatics at Guru Nanak Khalsa College, affiliated with the University of Mumbai (2022), with a thesis focused on the taxonomic and functional profiling of microbial diversity in forest soils using metagenomic approaches. She also holds a Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology from Sophia College, affiliated with the University of Mumbai (2020)
- Since February 2025, she has been a doctoral researcher in the GRK 2633 program (2nd Generation) at the Lübeck Institute for Experimental Dermatology (LIED), working under the supervision of Prof. Hauke Busch and Prof. Inke König
- Her project (A12) focuses on identifying burdened genes and shared pathways across autoimmune diseases using rare variant association analysis (RVAA) on whole-genome sequencing data from the UK Biobank, aiming to uncover genetic and molecular similarities that contribute to disease mechanisms.
