• Research in the field of biomarker detection in whole slide images using deep learning

• Melina initially completed a Bachelor’s degree in German and Political Science at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel from 2014 to 2017, which she successfully completed
• She then began a second Bachelor’s degree in Medical Engineering Science at the University of Lübeck in 2017, which she graduated from in 2021.
• This was followed by a Master’s degree in Medical Engineering, during which Melina specialised in deep learning
• After successfully completing her Master’s degree in September 2024, she became a member ofthe Medical Systems Biology working group headed by Prof Hauke Busch in October 2024.
• Her work focuses primarily on deep learning-based analyses of biological samples and on sustainable data management.
